Taiwan is a country with great expectations to invest in Mexico, and they have therefore followed closely the process of the subsidiary laws for the energy sector, expressing a clear interest on areas such as renewable and green energies, as well as in the transportation sector and hydrocarbons exploration and exploitation.

Carlos Liao, Ambassador and Director General of Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in Mexico, said that he supports and approves the Energy Reform, in addition to the Telecommunications Reform, and acknowledged that this will open the door to investment opportunities, as well as technology exchange between both countries.

Mr. Liao further said that Taiwan is among the three Asian countries with the largest investment in Mexico, together with Korea and Japan.

The Ambassador also pointed-out that Taiwan has one of the most important cargo fleets, in addition to building high tonnage ships, so they are willing to invest in oil transportation, as well as in containers design and manufacture, which will provide for greater maritime development.
