Safran could land a new investment to produce composite materials, with an investment of approximately US$60 million. This would be its sixth plant in Queretaro.

According to the state secretary of Sustainable Development, Marcelo Lopez Sanchez, a few months ago they started negotiations with company executives, but the location of the project is not yet defined.

He explained that to finalize the deal they need to establish contact with Bombardier's executives so that they can release 6 hectares of land in the Aerospace Park, that are committed to them. Currently, he said, the Park is mostly awarded.

The Aerospace Park covers about 80 hectares with companies from both the automotive and aeronautics industry.

Two years ago, in 2013, Snecma of Safran Group confirmed its fifth plant in theState of Queretaro and the 10 at a national level, with the creation of 150 jobs to produce parts for turbines and aircraft engines. The project materialized during the Paris Air Show Le Bourget.

The company will assembly new aircraft engines, which would save 30% fuel and emit 40% less noise.

Safran considers Queretaro as one of the states with the greatest potential to develop the project, which would generate a huge number of jobs in the aerospace industry, said Dario Malpica, President of the Mexico's Employers Council (Coparmex) in Queretaro.

López Sanchez emphasized that in the last three years, Queretaro was able to attract a Foreign Direct Investment of almost 800 million dollars.
