Aerospace industry in Nuevo Leon is expected to receive 10 new companies this year to manufacture components, outspread its strategic alliances abroad and consolidate its share of the market in Mexico.

Teresa Galindo Estrada, Chairwoman of the State’s Aerospace Cluster, pointed-out that the purpose is generating 100% Mexican technology in some items by 2017, to become world-class suppliers for this industry.

“There are 23 members, among manufacturing companies, service workshops, academic institutions and the State Government, and we want to add 10 companies or members this year, to end 2014 with 33”, she said.

Ms. Galindo said that “one of the main goals for 2014 is increasing the number of members; we invite new companies that want to establish in this industry”.

The cluster, she said, is the link between future investments or potential customer for our members, and this year we will provide support to companies that are looking for suppliers at other states or countries. She further said that recent studies made both in Mexico and abroad show Mexico as a power in aerospace industry and, inside Mexico, the State of Nuevo Leon is fifth on aeronautic investment.
