The structural reforms made by Mexico have awakened the interest of both Mexican and foreign investors, officers from the Mexican Businessmen Association, Asociacion de Empresarios Mexicanos (AEM), pointed-out.

Interviewed during the Association’s meeting, being held in Mexico City, Jorge Suarez Velez, Chairman of AEM, New York Chapter, said that their expectations are based on the fact that some of the economic deceleration was related to the one suffered by the United States, mainly due to the weather change there.

But he said that as the Reforms are implemented “what we will see is a huge interest on investing and aggressive investment projects that will also come from the Mexican business sector”.

However, both Mr. Suarez-Velez and Eduardo Bravo, AEM Chairman, said that the investment amounts are hard to estimate for the time being.

They acknowledged that with the Energy Reform, Mexico will become the “perfect country” for the migration of companies looking for strategic alliances for investment.
