Jalisco is Leader in Investment in Electronics Industry

Jalisco was the state in Mexico that attracted the largest amount of Foreign Direct Investment on electronics industry in the last decade, and they want to replicate that success in the creative industries.

Jalisco was the state in Mexico that attracted the largest amount of Foreign Direct Investment on electronics industry in the last decade, and they want to replicate that success in the creative industries.

104 plants manufacture electronic products in Jalisco, some of them from transnational corporations such as Flextronics, Foxconn, HP, Jabil, Motorola and Sanmina.

According to the Ministry of the Economy, US$2.057 billion were received in FDI by Electronics Industry, above Chihuahua (US$1.819 billion) and Baja California (US$1.734 billion), both states with an important vocation in such activity as well.

One of the most recent investments was allocated to an Intel Center, where telecommunication integrated circuits will be developed, and will focus on optical design and the creation of high-speed electronic circuits.
