I recently read a preview of a new book due to be published on July 29th called The 7 Non-Negotiables of Winning:  Tying Soft Traits to Hard Results.  Author David Williams promises to illustrate how staying true to some defining principles can influence and / or guarantee success in most any business venture.  Williams states that the 7 Non-Negotiables drives relationships between his company – Fishbowl and their customers, partners and vendors.

The 7 Non-Negotiables are:

1.  RESPECT.  Seek to understand others before you seek to be understood.

2.  BELIEF.  If you believe in yourself, you can fail up and overcome anything.

3.  TRUST.  Trust is the foundation of healthy relationships and it must be earned.

4.  LOYALTY.  Promises must be more than words, even if they require sacrifice.

5.  COMMITMENT.  Don’t hold anything back and work like this is your last job.

6.  COURAGE.  Never back down from a challenge; discover your inner strength to win.

7.  GRATITUDE.  Actively look for opportunities to show kindness to others.

William’s book will provide insights and a series of exercises to assist the reader in defining their own Non-Negotiables and Attributes critical to personal and interpersonal success as well as within a working team.  The book invites the reader to use the above 7 Non-Negotiables as a guide in the process of developing their own.

Look for William’s new book from Wiley Publishing due out on July 29, 2013.
