Guaymas Port Facilities to be Modernized

Guillermo Ruiz de Teresa, Ports and Merchant Marine Coordinator in the Ministry of Communications and Transportation, said that the modernization of Guaymas Port is a commitment made by President Enrique Peña Nieto. 

He explained the details of the Project, where US$335 million are expected to be invested; in the first stage, US$40 million will be allocated to infrastructure expansion and dredging works.

Modernizing this Port involves a 4-terminal peninsular zone for ships 350 meters long and four more for ships 250 meters long, as well as 1,150 meters front that may be expanded to three kilometers. 

Installed capacity has been designed to receive ships with 45 tons dead weight, among other things.
