Domestic Market: Pivotal for Auto Parts

With the new investments made in the automotive sector, Mexico could climb to world’s fourth auto parts manufacturer, leaving Germany behind, within five years, invoicing US$100 billion, 25% over current figures, Oscar Albin, Chairman of the Mexican Auto Parts Industry Association, Industria Nacional de Autopartes (INA), forecasted.

With the new investments made in the automotive sector, Mexico could climb to world’s fourth auto parts manufacturer, leaving Germany behind, within five years, invoicing US$100 billion, 25% over current figures, Oscar Albin, Chairman of the Mexican Auto Parts Industry Association, Industria Nacional de Autopartes (INA), forecasted.

However, this challenge will only be achieved if the domestic market is strengthened to meet the demand of 500,000 to 700,000 new vehicles that could be purchased by Mexican consumers, by setting order in the used cars market, he warned.
