Confidence reaches a peak since 2008

Last July Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) in Mexico posted 1.19% increase over June, the Mexican Statistics Agency, Instituto Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (Inegi), informed.

Last July Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) in Mexico posted 1.19% increase over June, the Mexican Statistics Agency, Instituto Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (Inegi), informed.

This progress, measured with season-adjusted figures, puts the indicator in its highest level since May 2008, by reaching 96.9 points. CCI growth was supported on the advance of five of its components.

The item that posted the largest growth over June was the one that compares current economic situation in households against 12 months ago, which posted 2.1% improvement.

The item that makes the same question, but towards the future, also posted good progress over June, showing 2% improvement on households’ economic situation expectations for 12 months ahead.
