Businessmen announce investments in energy industry

With the Energy Reform, Mexican businessmen estimate a public-private investment close to US$70 billion in the short term, of which US$30 billion will be private capital, according to the Business Coordinating Council, which, together with other organizations, celebrated the enactment of the subsidiary legislation.

“In the medium and long terms, I think it may be potentiated a lot more and reach record levels, never seen before in Mexico; it is a Reform where we participated a lot”, Gerardo Gutierrez Candiani, Chairman, Business Coordinating Council, declared. 

At the end of the event where the President enacted the subsidiary laws, Gutierrez Candiani said that the private sector is ready to actively participate in their implementation, and further said that they are convinced that it is only through legal changes that growth and investment will be fostered, to reach levels currently not found in Mexico.
