Auto part makers will invest US$200 million

Upon Volkswagen Mexico’s announcement of the production of the Tiguan SUV sarting in 2016, 30 auto part makers are planning to invest US$200 million to expand their factories and create over 400 job occupations.

Upon Volkswagen Mexico’s announcement of the production of the Tiguan SUV sarting in 2016, 30 auto part makers are planning to invest US$200 million to expand their factories and create over 400 job occupations.

The auto part makers undertaking this investment expect to recruit and train their labor force by the third quarter of this year.

Erwin Polo Feldman, President of the auto-parts sector of the National Chamber of Transformation Industry (CANACINTRA), said that as much as the Mexican auto parts sector has the skills to supply parts for the Golf A7, it also has the necessary capacities to manufacture up to 500 units of Tiguan a day, thus encouraging the arrival of more suppliers.
