Volkswagen will expand their labor force

Volkswagen will increase their global labor force to 600,000 by 2018 from the current 550,000 employees, as part of their efforts to become the largest automobiles assembler in the world, Bernd Osterloh, Chairman, Group and General Works Councils, said to a German newspaper.

“Volkswagen has been growing and they will therefore keep on hiring for production”, Handelsblatt Newspaper said quoting Osterloh, in an excerpt of an interview to be published next Tuesday.

Volkswagen, which assembled 9.1 million vehicles last year, has said they are expecting to replace Toyota Motor Corp. as number 1 automotive company in sales by 2018.
