Supply industry is growing in Matamoros, not only with new companies, but also through the expansion of plants already established here; there are currently 8 projects for this 2013, Monica Gonzalez Garcia, State Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, informed.

Supply industry is growing in Matamoros, not only with new companies, but also through the expansion of plants already established here; there are currently 8 projects for this 2013, Monica Gonzalez Garcia, State Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, informed.

Ms. Gonzalez said that 5 of these projects are in the negotiation and promotion stage, but 3 have been confirmed and are currently on the eve of materializing.

Minister Gonzalez pointed-out that there are very good growth expectations in Matamoros for the last half of the year, since they have been in touch with several companies already established here which have growth projects.

Gonzalez Garcia further said that there is also the possibility of the arrival of new local suppliers, which may be domestic suppliers for big companies.

In a meeting held with Matamoros Maquiladoras Association, Ms. Gonzalez said that currently there is competition not only among states, but also among municipalities. “Therefore, we are finding the advantages in each of them, to make an offer to the companies interested in establishing at the State of Matamoros”, she said.
