Nissan Manufactures Engine Number 9 Million in Mexico

Nissan celebrated the assembly of their 4-cylinder engine number 9 million in their Aguascalientes Plant, which will be assembled in Sentra cars to be sold in Mexico.

Nissan celebrated the assembly of their 4-cylinder engine number 9 million in their Aguascalientes Plant, which will be assembled in Sentra cars to be sold in Mexico.

In a press release, Armando Avila, Manufacturing Vice-president with Nissan Mexicana, pointed-out that this record was achieved thanks to the quality of labor, technological development and production processes recognized as parameter for the corporation throughout the world.

Nissan informed that in 2012 this components plant produced around 620,000 engines, which translates into an average of 2,116 engines per day and one engine manufactured every 19 seconds.

The plant started operations on November 13, 1982 as engines, components and stamping plant, and 10 years started operating as vehicles assembler.

Seven different types of 4-cylinder and diesel engines for vehicles such as Sentra, Tsuru and Tiida, among others, are currently produced here by a labor force consisting of over 2,280 people.
