Mexico is the Country With More Exports in Latin America

Rocio Ruiz Chavez, Deputy Secretary for Competitiveness and Normativity with the Ministry of the Economy, pointed out that Mexico chose Maquiladora and Export Manufacturing Industry as a driving force for development and further said that our country exports more than all the other countries in Latin America together.

On this issue, she said that this industry has been rebuilt throughout time and has set deep roots in the domestic production chain; therefore, it is necessary to have a clear view of export maquiladora industry, to look after their operation costs and avoid losing ground to other countries in the international arena.

Also, Jorge Aristoteles Sandoval, Governor of Jalisco, said that the State of Jalisco puts its money and efforts on the triple helix made by companies-academy-government, to consolidate the development of the Mexican Silicon Valley as leader in high technology development.

Ha affirmed that Jalisco is fifth in Mexico in the number of IMMEX businesses and sixth in compensations.

The Governor said that his most important challenge is converting maquiladora industry into an innovation generating industry, since there are over 70 companies and more than 3,000 IT programmers, and further said that Jalisco is one of the few states that have a Science and Technology Ministry to incentivize investment and foster human capital.
