Maquila industry works on strengthening the chain of supply

“Plans that we have already delivered to Sebastian Lerdo de Tejada, the member in the Transition Team responsible for the National Development Plan, aimed for certification and consolidation of domestic chains of supply to become an axis for the industrial development policy”, Luis Aguirre said. One of these six axes is certifying suppliers, developing business networks and consolidating a supplies database.

In the 36th Congress of Garments Industry, Aguirre Lang said that having a better chain of supply in Mexico would help domestic maquiladora industry and would attract investments.

He said that one of the factors global companies are taking into consideration to invest ino Mexico is having supplies on hand for efficient logistics and inventories management.

INDEX created this year the National Center of Supplying Companies, Centro Nacional de Empresas Proveedoras (Cenadep), which purpose is linking sectors and institutions that want to contribute to the domestic chain of supply.
