Investors Interested in a New Industrial Park in Queretaro

Investors from the automotive sector are interested in building a new industrial park at El Marques Municipality, expected to have a surface over 100 hectares, Mayor Enrique Vega Carriles informed.

He said that the first contact has been made with the interested group and for the time being studies are being made and filings are being completed to change the use of land. In addition, everything related to environmental impact should be filed.

“It would be located in the Municipality’s northern area, near Queretaro Industrial Park. It would be focused on the automotive branch; more precise data will be available within three or four months”, he said. Enrique Vega pointed-out that there are eight industrial parks and one aeronautics corridor at the Municipality, adding to over 50,000 jobs and 600 companies installed there. He mentioned that 13 other companies have plans to establish at the Municipality, which would mean an investment for around US$140.6 million and 7,460 jobs. “There are many companies from dry industries, none of them contaminating; most of them come to produce automotive parts”, Mayor Vega informed. Among the sectors with important opportunities, he mentioned aeronautics and industrial at La Cañada and Chichimequillas zone; real estate in the northern zone; and agriculture in the Municipality’s southwestern zone.
