Ildefonso Guajardo, Minister of the Economy, assured that before the obsession for Mexico’s economic growth, the Federal Government has worked on reforms that create the required business environment to achieve it.

During the announcement of the investment to be made by Mondelez International, Minister Guajardo affirmed that achieving sustained growth is essential, in addition to openness to private investment, which is generating more foreign investment at states such as Nuevo Leon.

Gustavo Abeleda Divola, Vice-president, Mondelez International Latin America, assured that they want to strengthen their presence in Mexico, and therefore offered a long-term alliance to generate jobs.

Making an analogy with the investment made by Lego, Minister Guajardo said: “Small blocks are being built into our domestic economy, and there is no doubt that a block that should fit perfectly is one we set 20 years ago, the block of commercial openness, for a smart integration into global markets”, he said.

He pointed-out that throughout the last seven months steps have been taken to create the required business environment, with reforms in telecommunications, economic competency and the financial and education sectors.
