Foreign investment goal in Queretaro raised

Queretaro could reach Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from US$900 million, US$200 million over the initial goal set for 2013, according to Marcelo Lopez Sanchez, State Minister of Sustainable Development. In the first half of the year 29 investment projects have been materialized, for an approximate amount of US$450 million, which could mean the generation of 4,000 direct jobs in the long term, Mr. Lopez informed. From such amount, the automotive sector led the investment; also on top are the aeronautics sector and the telecommunications sector with Ericsson and Alestra operations centers. For the second half of the year there are between 120 and 130 investment projects, all of them Indifferent progress stages.
