Even if last year Mexico increased the volume of new light vehicles exports to China and Japan, by 250% and 59%, going from 5,490 to 19,207 and from 6,403 to 10,155 units over 2011 respectively, the contribution of Asian countries in this area is still incipient.

A more regular and sustained growth of Mexican automobiles exports to these countries remains a challenge, after President Enrique Peña Nieto spoke about Mexico’s purpose to enhance economic exchange during his recent visit to China and Japan.
